Financial executive Bruce Alonso spent 25 years employed in various positions with Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. He began his long journey with the global financial services firm in 1980, joining the team as a financial advisor in Tampa, Florida. After two years, he moved to the position of Branch Manager in Fort Myers, Florida, and in 1984, he became manager of the company's Fort Lauderdale branch. After three years in Fort Lauderdale, Bruce Alonso transferred to Chicago to accept a Midwest Regional Sales Manager position. He continued to rise through the Morgan Stanley ranks and spent almost nine years as Southeast Regional Manager, heading one of the company's eight regions with oversight of 75 branch offices.
In 1998, Bruce Alonso was elevated to the role of Eastern Division Manager, supervising the 250 eastern United States branch offices of Morgan Stanley. With primary responsibility for the private wealth business of the firm, he led four regions consisting of more than 10,000 employees and 8,000 financial advisors. In 2000, Bruce Alonso became the National Sales Director, leading the national branch office system of 450 branches, 8 regions, and 18,000 employees. In this position until 2004, his commitment to the company provided him an opportunity to advance to the Vice Chairman position with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, where he remained until his retirement.
Educated at Emory University's Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, Georgia, Bruce Alonso graduated summa cum laude with a degree in finance. While at the university, he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Inc., a national scholastic honor society for university business programs. Fluent in English and Spanish, he continues to share the wealth of financial knowledge accumulated over the course of a busy career. Bruce Alonso serves as one of nine members comprising the board of directors of his homeowner's association for Country Club of the South, providing financial input for a community of 733 homes. Additionally, he supports his church by serving on its finance committee.
